Cornell Communications Showcases Comprehensive Emergency Response and Nurse Call Solutions in LeadingAge Idea House Exhibition

Audio Nurse Call Systems and Wireless Emergency Response Equipment

Milwaukee, WI – (October 22, 2012) – Cornell Communications, a premier emergency and nurse call system developer for over 40 years, is displaying its AURA 2.0 Emergency Response System and 7000 Audio Nurse Call Series as part of the LeadingAge Annual Meeting & Exposition Idea House exhibition this week, Oct. 22-24 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, CO. The systems have been incorporated into the 3,000 square-ft. Idea House, which features the latest in senior care, architectural trends and residential design aesthetic.

Recognized nationwide for its high quality, advanced and reliable equipment and systems for the senior healthcare market, Cornell solidifies its reputation for providing customizable, exceptional and fully comprehensive solutions with the inclusion of the AURA 2.0 and 7000 Audio Nurse Call Series in the Idea House exhibition.

“With each of these systems, we’ve combined the best of both worlds,” said J.J. Johnson, CEO of Cornell Communications. “The AURA 2.0 and 7000 Audio Nurse Call Series not only meet the very specific, delicate requirements of the senior healthcare market, but customers can choose their devices to configure a wired, wireless or hybrid solution and meet their facility’s individual needs. It’s an opportunity of choice that’s quickly diminishing in this market, and one that Cornell has always and will continue to offer to our customer base.”

Cornell 7000 Audio Nurse Call Series

The Cornell 7000 Audio Nurse Call Series is an efficient nurse call communication system that saves caregivers’ time to sustain a heightened quality level of care for patients and residents. Designed specifically for nursing homes, long-term care facilities, clinics and other healthcare applications, the Cornell 7000 Audio Nurse Call Series provides call tones and light signals to indicate levels of urgency and includes the convenience of voice communication.

The 7000 Audio Nurse Call Series offers a bedside and bathroom station for each patient room, and two call levels to distinguish between bathroom station calls and routine bedside calls. An urgent call station can also be installed for common area restrooms. Dual corridor lamps outside each room immediately alert staff to a bedside or bathroom call.

All calls are controlled through the 50-call Nurse Call Console, which can be expanded with a 30-call add-on selector for a maximum of 80 stations. A duty station can also be installed in any lounge or work area, so that no caregiver is out of touch with his or her patients and residents.

Easy to install and operate with a streamlined, compact profile, the 7000 Audio Nurse Call Series requires very little staff training and is reinforced by Cornell’s reputation for high-quality, maintenance-free solutions.

AURA 2.0 Emergency Response System

Cornell’s AURA 2.0 Wireless Emergency Response System provides code compliant, wired call stations or wireless devices that meet the individual requirements of every facility and can help increase emergency response to unanticipated situations and simplify basic, daily operations. The AURA 2.0 is a comprehensive solution that combines both conventional wired and advanced wireless technologies to give long-term care and senior healthcare facilities the most robust emergency response system available.

The AURA 2.0 can constantly monitor wired or wireless bed stations, bath stations, pendants or devices for alerts or calls for assistance. When a call is received, it is documented and logged for staff response times and assurance that a resident’s needs are being met. After the call for assistance has been recorded, staff or responders are then notified by a desktop screen, e-mail, text message or in-house pocket pager. This way, even after normal hours, staff can be alerted to an incident or emergency.

The AURA 2.0 maintains a high level of integration, and can be integrated with the complete line of Cornell Communications products and most wired nurse calls systems, enabling legacy systems to remain in place while adding imperative data logging and documentation capabilities. Customers can also choose between wired or wireless devices to tailor and configure their system to meet individual needs.

To see the AURA 2.0 Emergency Response System and the Cornell 7000 Audio Nurse Call Series, visit the LeadingAge Idea House exhibition on Monday, Oct. 22, 3:30-5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, 8:00-9:30 a.m. and 3:30-5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 24, 8:30-10:00 a.m. For more information regarding Cornell Communications and its array of products, visit booth #732 during the show or log onto www.cornell.com.
